France caters for every type of holiday tourist too, including, adventure tourists, families, honeymooners, groups of friends, backpackers etc. With easy access by plane or ferry, and train or car via the Channel Tunnel, it is hardly surprising that France is a popular destination with manu UK tourists.
French cuisine is, of course, the stuff of legend, and food lovers are in heaven during holidays in France as they sample the local food and wine.
France is a popular place for sporting holidays with sailing holidays an obvious choice on either the Mediterran Sea or the English Channel for the more experienced sailer. Cycling holidays are also to be found across France, afterall, this is the home of the Tour de France.
However, probably the most popular sport in France is skiing. The snow conditions and scenery in the French Alps is a must for all ski lovers and a must-do destination. The French Alps are also popular for summer activity holidays such as abseiling, white water rafting, rockclimbing, mountain biking and trekking all on offer.
